On September 20th, we invite you to take part in a unique day at San Sebastián Beach, as part of the International Coastal Cleanup Day.
An activity where we will join forces with the Barcelona Swimming Club, Underwater Barcelona, and Sea You Barcelona to clean the coast, the breakwaters, and the seabed—giving the Mediterranean a much-needed breath of fresh air.

Three ways to participate
1. On-land cleanup volunteers
If you’d like to help on the sand, the Underwater team will provide gloves and nets to collect waste. You will also be guided by a specialized monitor throughout the activity.
Meeting time: 9:30 am
2. Paddle surf volunteers
Another way to get involved is by collecting waste on a SUP board. For this activity, we will count on Sea You Barcelona and their paddle surf boards.
3. Underwater diving volunteers (with your own equipment)
Would you rather dive in and help from the seabed? You’ll only need your diving gear.
Please note the following conditions to participate as a diver:
- Hold a valid Open Water certification.
- Not have been out of the water for more than one year. Otherwise, a refresher course will be required before the event.
Spots are limited to 15 divers, so be sure to reserve yours in advance.
Underwater cleanup and paddle surf volunteers are scheduled to meet at 9:00 am.

09:30 Meeting with land volunteers + pre-briefing
09:50 Start of cleanup (beach, breakwaters, and seabed)
